Do you know what really grinds my gears?

When ALL the podcasts you listen to haven’t updated. I’m waiting on four right now to get their butts in gear so I have something fun to listen to. I’m also caught up with all my favorite TV shows, so I’m watching Torchwood Season 3 again.

I started some socks for my man. He wanted some cozy house socks to keep his feet warm, so I opened up LionBrand’s Just Socks and had a look. None of them were exactly what I wanted so I’m doing a combination of 3 different patterns from the book. Not only will they be spiffy, they will sport my first afterthought heel.

I made it to knitting group yesterday morning and ended up getting a little commission. I know the people that own the coffee shop where we congregate and the owner noticed my felted coffee sleeve. He was quite intrigued, and being the eco-minded guy he is, he asked me to knit up a dozen for him. Hooray for me. 🙂 I’m charging him $2 each, but if I had been more awake at 7:30 am, I would have asked for free lattes. Maybe next time.

Speaking of knitting and making money, I finally opened a little Etsy shop. I have to admit I don’t have a lot of hope of making money there — the competition is very stiff, but we’ll see what happens. If nothing else I can refer people there to look at my work. I’m adding the link to my blog roll.

UPDATE: Thank you to my dot comrades at www.galacticaquorum.com for finally posting  a new podcast. I’m certain my whining is what got them to post.

  1. I stumbled upon that woman Sarah’s blog post about the Moriarty/Lease show. LMAO! Ahhhhh the joy of criticism.
IN other news – Magraw is 100% donor and is still struggling with GVHD (graft vs host disease) but all in all he is cancer free and recovering SLOWLY but SURELY. Tommy’s dad’s cancer treatment is also going well . He has pancreatic with some liver spots as well. It’s now a lifelong battle since they cannot operate on the pancreas or liver when both have been infected. BUT he’s doing great and his chemo has reduced his spot sizes to very small areas which give them hope that he can just have periodic therapy once he’s through the initial treatment.
I MISS YOU – I’m so freakin busy it’s insane. LeeAnn is great, FRAN is AWESOME and Colin is just the BOMB. Kristin asked how you were doing the other week. I told her about the no job/knitting frenzy.
    ok bye bye

    • Isn’t that funny, I was just thinking about you and (ironically) Kristin today. I’ll just leave it at that.

Good news about Mr. Dean. I didn’t even know Tommy’s daddy was ill. I really hate the cancer. I mean REALLY.

Everyone here is doing pretty well too. No job, no real prospects. The word at the Forum is they’re going to hell in a handbasket and picking up speed along the way. Considering JLN always wants to hire Doug to do teaching gigs because he thinks Doug is cute (EWWWW) it’s no surprise.
